Fedora Linux Problem

Post by domhunt » Mon Oct 05, 2009 4:41 pm

I'm trying to install Fedora via a LiveCD on my external hard drive and when it's formatting the drive it keeps returning this message

An error occurred mounting device /dev/sdb1 as /boot: mount failed: (2, None). This is a fatal error and the install cannot continue.

Everytime i've installed an older version it's worked perfectly but number 11 seems to hate me,

anyone know how i can get around this?

Much appreciated

Either in bios or with the dip switches, you need to set that external drive as master, not slave.

on a normal master drive
are you setting up a dual boot sys off one drive? with like lilo or grub as the booter? also is your drive in multi partitions already? is it ntfs or fat32? whats the old os? propertiary computer? like drivers locked on an onboard computer? have you tried a low level factory format? did you defrag if you had ntfs on xp???
