Serato FAQ

Post by dubstepjack » Mon Oct 05, 2009 7:51 pm

Hi, please can someone help me?

When I play tracks in Serato from my pc/laptop, there is often a long gap of silence before the start of the track plays?

Does anyone know why this is?

thanks

either thats where the timecode on the vinyl starts or theres a few seconds of silence at the beginning of the file. Open one of the tracks in Cool Edit or soundforge and delete any silence at the beginning

thanks for the advice but thats not the problem

The tracks all start in the correct place on the file and the time code on the vinyl starts in the normal place, there just the standard serato timecode vinyl :(

anyone else help?

Check the Serato options/preferences. There is an option called "Track Start Offset" or something similar.
Turn down the value there.

have you built all your overviews?
are your files on an external drive?
do you have enough ram?

is the angle i'm wondering about.
1.9.0+ is more cpu intensive than previous versions but it sounds like you may not have your overviews built and maybe need to upgrade your ram.

as the geezer above says get down to the scratchlive forums- dead good aftercare.
