good luck

Re: Making Dubstep
Forget everything else and just concentrate on learning the in's and outs of Logic for now. You don't need anything but software and skill to make good dubstep.

Re: Making Dubstep
true you dont need hardware but its a hell of a lot more fun to record sessions of gear and slice them up later
and leads to a cooler sound in my opinion, cause you learn how to deal with audio 10000 times better/quicker than those who have never sampled anything but one shot drum hits and focus on midi only

Re: Making Dubstep
There are some good tutorials about (youtube can be really clear as you can see what peeps are doing within logic), try and rip off a couple of tunes to start with, like copy the parts. This will help you get an understanding of how things work. Alternatively you could be creative, mite take longer but there is scope for more of a natural evolution into your sound. Trying to improve your sound makes you look into new techniques and broadens your horizons.KIRAN wrote:Right, hi everyone,

Re: Making Dubstep
Bro, you're 14 and have some of the illest kit to fuck with.
Start by reading the manual so you know how your kit works.
Then spend every day you're not at school (or seeing to girls) experimenting with your kit and reading up on music related subjects!!!
I'm not the only one who would have killed for that kind of kit at aged 14. Count yourself lucky and use it.

Re: Making Dubstep
Logic is tough to start out on, it was for me at least, back when there were virtual patch cables everywhere. Yek.
I'd start slow, with maybe audacity - play your drum beat on the korg, record into audacity. Loop that playback and play your bass line, until you get something you like, then record that. Make some variations of those parts and then arrange them. Oh my god, you've got a song?
Harder than it sounds
