Re: so whats the new logic saying?
I'm using it and haven't done ANYTHING differently to what I did on 8 yet lol and I've had it a fair while now...
I've played around with the pedal boards though, they're fucking decent, especially the delay ones.
I suppose it's worth upgrading just so you know the features are there... By what I've seen of the flex tool in action, I feel it's definitely going to enable you to lose Ableton Rewired.

the flex time is pretty cool, they just bought out the update to 9.0.1 which updates a few of the bugs,
but I'm a new logic user so can't really say how different it is

Re: so whats the new logic saying?
im a bit vexed that there is no option to upgrade from the education version. piss take.
anyone know, if you can use all the old jam packs, samples and all them gigabigs from the logic 8 boxset?
and oh, whats the compatibility like with old logic files. i know when ableton brings a new version out, it usually prangs when opening a set from an older version...
safe

There's not really such thing as an 'educational version' from what I've read... Apparently it's just the normal version, sold with an educational price tag!babylonjunkies wrote:im a bit vexed that there is no option to upgrade from the education version. piss take.

Yep all that stuff will be kept when you upgrade, I haven't lost anything since I upgraded...
No problems at all as of yet when opening logic 8 files!
I actually needed that update as soon as I installed Logic 9 for it to run properly lol. It wouldn't open any files :\lowpass wrote:the flex time is pretty cool, they just bought out the update to 9.0.1 which updates a few of the bugs,

But loving everything about Logic 9 since that update!
Making me sound quite sad, the main function I look forward to using in the future is the 'notes' feature lol. I can see this being really handy!

oh and that function which lets you take anything into exs24 looks so dope. ive been wondering why logic didnt have that.
im feeling you on the note thing, i have epic visions (delusions) of conducting some filthy orchedubstra.

Re: so whats the new logic saying?
mate it's all about running a full string section through logic tbh. Don't know what to use for it though, its hard to find decent string samples.
My logic was running fine before the update but was acting buggy yesterday. (keyboard shortcuts weren't working, automation mode wasn't working) restarted and was fine so I thought I may as well try it an see. I haven't really used the notes, I'm guessing would be useful for tracking/mixing a band.

there's never an upgrade option on the educational license of logic.babylonjunkies wrote:im a bit vexed that there is no option to upgrade from the education version. piss take.
