awesome plug-in, definitely a go to plug-in if I wanna bizarre-up a sound. I realized today that I only use the presets. there are so many options, I didn't even think about it.

have any of you come up with sick sounds for nitro?

The fact that you can play around with phasing so easily is VERY underrated. Put it on a bus where you have all the percussive stuff that isn't your main kicks and snares and watch your mix get very multi-dimensional while still not fucking up the stereo spectrum too much!

Nitro Costed 10$ in July, now it costs about 135 $ again. Got the cheaper version

I definitely think this is a powerful plugin. I haven't wrapped my head around it yet to get the most out of it... but it has really come in handy a few times the past couple months. I can't wait to really learn it.

Oh yeah... and I also was one of those who copped it at $10. At that price, I only needed to use it once or twice and it would have paid for itself.

My happiness with Nitro led me to buy oldTimer (vintage-style compressor) on sight when they introduced it half-price. These days, oldTimer is my go-to compressor. I am loving it.

I agree with you. I think VintageWarmer is overused for the wrong purposes. As an effect - it can be cool. As an overall mix solution - I think it creates more problems than it fixes.

Just so peeps don't get confused tho...
oldTimer isn't VintageWarmer. Totally diff plugin...

lovely tool for flavor. some fantastic rhythmic, atmospheric manipulation lies within.

Vwarmer is great for what it is--which is weird and non-linear. in a good way.

Same here re the presets. I bought it for 10$ on a whim, but haven't ever really gotten into it. I would like a go to third party filter, but I have yet to find it. I mostly bought this for that, but its got so many options, I can never limit myself to testing out just one of the filters. Stupid, I know, never claimed to be a sharp one.

Old timer - how are you using the old timer, as a channel compressor or a buss compressor, both, what type of program material? What kind of effect is it giving? Interested to know.

I've used it for a little of everything. I have used it as both as a channel compressor (for bass) and buss compressor (drums).... but have even used it as a very mild 'glue' on the master channel as well. Personally, I like it best when used sparingly - when I want to really squash something I'll use AD's Rough Rider - but because oldTimer has a selectable 'Clear' or 'Valve' setting... it can be nice to give the sound a little extra color without going bananas on the gain reduction.

I don't find much use for many of the presets... but there are a couple, that with minimal tweaking can really get a good sound.
