Pressing Issues is BACK!

Post by pressing issues » Mon Oct 26, 2009 5:43 pm

That's right... we're back and already working on ISSUE003. (more on that later... blog post to come this week!)

If you want to listen to 001 or 002, head over to our SoundCloud page.

First, some minor updates:

We've moved our website from pressing-issues.co.uk to pressing-issues.com.

We added a blog and are in the middle of adding some other tasty treats to the new page. We'll be updating regularly there, as well as keeping dubstepforum.com as our home. Think of our website as a hub for information, telling you where to find us (and, more importantly, everyone else!) across the web.

Instead of making you troll for links, here are some helpful ones if you want to find us across the social web.
Twitter - twitter.com/pressing_issues
Facebook Fan Page - facebook.com/pressingissues
SoundCloud - soundcloud.com/pressing-issues
Website - pressing-issues.com
DubstepXclusiv - dubstepxclusive.ning.com/profile/PressingIssuesRecordings
Discogs - discogs.com/label/Pressing+Issues

Now, some news and thanks

Many of the original committee members (CEDE, Katie Mo and Patrick (Cure)) have remained, and Sev (HxdB) has joined the committee. We're now spread out from Vancouver, CA to New York, NY (Sev and Patrick in Vancouver, Katie and CEDE in New York).

This project wouldn't have been possible without the support of dubstepforum.com, the original committee members way back in 2006, and the community members on DSF at that same time.

This also WOULD NOT be possible without the guidance, leadership and patience of Miro - for those that don't know he REALLY stepped up and made this label happen. We wouldn't be where we are today without him and words can't express how happy we are to see his successes take shape and grow as time passes. Sappy but true (it's misskatiemo writing this, so blame me for the sap).

Going forward...

We'll be more active on the forum as things progress for ISSUE003, and of course, the voting will still happen.

Feel free to reach out and say "Hello" however suits you. We're active on the sites listed above (Twitter, Facebook, our website, etc) as well as here and DubstepXclusiv, so talk to us wherever you prefer.

Some hints...
  • We'll be heading down to WMC in March and are working to put together a few things there. Nothing is solid yet, but we'll update as things come together.
We may also be at SXSW, though this is more up in the air than WMC at this point.
ISSUE003... all I can say right now is "boom". LOVING things so far!

Guess what I just found... THE original Pressing Issues thread.

Check it here.

http://www.dubstepforum.com/dubstep-for ... 9-140.html

It's a long one, but quite a good read to see how things got started. We'll be putting up a blog post with EVERY initial thread about the project listed for history's sake, but the one above started it all.

Big ups!

I always thought this would either be the best idea ever or a total fuckin trainwreck. Reso ensured it was the best idea that caused a dancefloor trainwreck ever. Can't wait to see what the next release is

Soooo very excited to see this baby back in full-swing. I'm really honored to be a part of the crew, and believe me when I say this, you guys are in store for some really exciting things from us. We've been planning and brainstorming like crazy over the last few weeks, and we have some REALLY awesome things in store. Plus, pan to see us taking a very active roll in the community aspect, we fully plan on endorsing all of the artists that are featured in our selection process. In addition to this all, you'll notice as the days go, that our website is going to become more and more of a conduit for dubstep and bass-music related news and content. The more the label continues to grow and spread it's wings, the more the site will grow to encompass all of the new talent and exciting news.

Watch this space and watch the site closely! The poll for ISSUE003 will be SOON so don't miss out! :)

Peace

It seems that the label has surprised everyone, including the people involved, from the start.

We just created a blog post including the original Pressing Issues threads we could find. Check the FULL history out here: http://idek.net/bsc

It's key! Dubstep as a genre has such an amazing community - why not include everyone that wants to be part of the release process?

We're working on a few things for WMC and are always down for helping to promote the community.
