if that's how u feel, i doubt you've listened to a lot of dubstep.

there's so many sub-genres & styles, some more musically inclined than others... employing melodies etc., all the elements u mentioned initially & more.

besides the fact that you're in the wrong place for this kinda query, seems it'd be lost on this audience none-the-less.

There are so many different ethnic roots, so many influences that flowed into the music that it is becoming more and more diverse. With this all-pervasive sound, the collage-like sampling approach, dubstep is getting close to the idea of the ultimate, definitive and comprehensive all-encompassing music.
