They're striking alot atm, you can get dates from RM website.....

I don't know what a scab is, but Chemical are using other couriers on the cheap so delivery wont be affected.

(btw Parcel Force service is as normal)

Workers who work whilst the rest of the work force are on strike. In this case they are temperary agency workers brought in to cover for the strikers and not Post Office workers, so strictly speaking they are not 'scabs'.

Thanks for the answers.
Actually I do not wish to buy from people who are using strike breakers. out from a standpoint of solidarity.
But this temporary workers agency, are they from RM, themselves to make sure things go smooth, like say when nurses and the likes are on strike?
It's hard enough getting around Danish labour law :i:

edit: Of course this has nothing to do with chemical as they clearly NOT are The Royal Mail.

Basically chemical are using a different company instead of the post office... only the post office/royal mail are on strike...

But surely if your offered to work while people are on strike and you don't have any yourself your gunna take it. im ignorant on this striking buisness but surely its the employers at fault not the temp work staff.

Most of the temp staff taken on will replace the workers, also because they're temps they're excluded from some employment laws. Similarly with the strikers earlier this year, british jobs for british workers thing, they took on foreign workers because the company didn't have to adhere to british H&S laws if they employed foreign workers on a temp basis.

If someone is willing to do your job cheaper than you will do it for and with less benefits, then surely that is just the market naturally finding it's value for your position.

True, I don't know why they bother with H&S and minimum wage. I have a sugar plantation out the back, got 20 Negroes and half a dozern lumpen working for a cup of corn a day and if they're dumb enough to cut their hands open and not be able to work, well they should pay more attention.

^ well put

Employers have to take responsibility, there will always be somebody who's more desperate and more willing to degrade themselves. They need protecting as much as anybody - fair workload and fair pay for all!
