Noah D was playing out last night in Antwerp for his Europe Tour when during his mix, I heared a smashing remix of Explicit by Emalkay, had no idea who's work it was too..
Today I landed on the chat with NoahD to ask him who's work this was where he confirmed that it is his own remix, but he suddenly added that a release would never see daylight

Will be hard to get audio or a sample for this tune to post here, but i'll do my best!
It's absolutely siiiccckkkk

it might just be me, but the dubplate culture is starting to get old.

why would you bother going to see noah d if you could just listen to all his tracks online?
I know I definitely made a real effort to go see distance when I heard the clip of the Changes remix.

fair enough if it is just me but there's something so dangerously frustrating about tracks that never see the light of day. I don't mind if he's got a load of dubplates, you go see him and then a year later they surface and everyone can enjoy them because there's a new set of dubpaltes knocking about, but it's just depressing to have a track that you'll probably only ever hear once or twice.

make some tunes yourself. you will be rewarded. if you were a DJ that got dubs you would want tunes never to come out

sorry, but the world has changed and it's not going back any time soon. there is less and less point releasing tunes because everyone just torrents them or rips them off youtube to play on their phone on the bus. so artists have to use live appearances to make their money instead. so what's the best way to get people to your shows? the promise of music that they can't hear anywhere else. for better or worse, this is the way it is now and the 'music should be free' ideology is going to strengthen 'dubplate' culture massively.
on the plus side, it should stop that problem of tunes getting overplayed and everyone getting bored, so tracks should have more longevity. online 2 minute clips are gonna be the way forward, i'm afraid.

For artists, releasing tune generates a lot less income than playing a live gig... say the spend 2days on a tune... it gets released... they maybe get £300. They do a 1hour DJ set, they get paid £250, or more. The more dubs they have, the more people book them, the more people come and see them, the more money they get per hour... simple.
Also, there does need to be a performance element for this music and without dubs they're just the same as the next dj who went on Redeye and placed an order.

just because of the piracy theres no point in releasing any tunes for an artist ? sounds a bit silly .. and why should people who actually respect artists nuf to buy the releases suffer for the bad seeds ? though in fact there are plenty of dubstep releases , its just that theres so much music being produced that u cant release everything , hence it feels like there are so many dubs floatin bout , yagetmeh?
