Euhm...I may be wrong but...isn't it just dubstep tracks remixed into DnB?

No need to call it Drumstep...

I don't want to call it drumstep either, but there is a clear difference between regular drumnbass and this genre.
Whatever it's called,
i love to mix it, and id love to have some more tracks like this.

Wtf are you talking about? This is just drum and bass, what is this clear difference you talking about? Is it because of the snare? Is it because it isn't using the generic amen break style beat? This is silliness!

Ok its drumnbass, the snare is just repeated half the time it is used in regular dnb.
i think it gives a new perspective. btw check out this topic since there are also people who think it is not just clear dnb

Also the snare is in between where the 2 generic snares would be which gives it the generic dubstep swing. I do like it don't get me wrong but at the end of the day it's just another style of drum and bass in my opinion. Didn't read anyone calling this Drumstep in that thread?

Yo Bils :e:

Yea man, I've been meaning to get round to making stuff like this for the best part of a year n a half or so and I think I'm getting closer to being ready to make stuff that I like. So, when I do, I'll definitely send you it ;)

To the people obsessing about whether to call it X or to not call it X, I really don't think Bils cares (I know I don't).
He's just using the term to get his point across which is fair enough, no? :e:
Debut album "Bass, Space, Pace & Peace" out now on Methodology Recordings!
Cheers to all supporters and those who've dropped tracks in their shows!! :e:

Isn't this just dubstep at 170 bpm? That's that that's bad. Sometimes you have to speed things up a bit, like something I vaguely remember "Wouldn't it be terrible if Led Zeppelin made all their song at 140 bpm?".

anywhere you can post this stuff streaming, i can never be assed to download something before ive listened to a bit if u get me! ;)

as for nthe drumstep naming thing, i know exactkly the style u mean, spoke about this happening with people probably 2 or 3 years ago now, it was ineveitable that half tempo d+b would start getting its own following and even though i hate "genre police" i agree it is a different style enough to be its own genre. Its the same to d+b that dubstep is to Garage

p.s. I make tracks and am on this thing at the mo, havent made any decent "drumstep" yet as everytime i try, i end up putting the snare back to normal and it sounds better so it ends up being standard d+b again! ;), thats exaclty what happend to my track "violence is golden"

safe

Thats like saying dubstep is d+b slowed down to 70 bpm

Technically you could say the same with some forms of dubstep. It's all about how you use the pace and swing of the hi-hats/percussion.

I do quite like returning to some hip hop vibes though, as I was mainly into hip hop when I started producing.

These are a couple of my "drumstep" attempts... free downloads!

J one, I never go into the dubs section anymore, I very rarely listen to peoples tunes that they put in their sig or promote in a thread but every now and then I do have a listen, I have gotta say that this is the first time I've heard decent high quality music, fair play to you those are some nice tracks man.
