I think with the first track that percussion felt a little too fast. Needs more nastiness overall I feel. Seems to lack that 'I want to get up and boogie' feel. Dubstep is all about the rhythm and dancability and I think I'm struggling with this one a little. Overall seems to lack impact compared to some other folks stuff on the board.

I think you have some cool ideas as in terms of sounds.I like the second one best personally. The whole "dubstep basics" debate is a bit intimidating.I am more into Digital Myztiks and Loefah because it's more on the dub side, which goes to show that not all dubstep is "dub influenced techstep/2step".A perfect example is "Anti-War Dub".It's got the dubstep vibe, but it's also a 4/4 dub anthem.I think you might be focusing too much on the step aspect, but not enough of the dub. That might be why (as Promo mentioned) your beats are so fast.

That is just my perspective, but I am more of a dubber,so what do I know!

Anyway keep working on it.All the "heavyweights",as you put it,had to start somewhere too.Like I said,I think you have good ideas. You just need to start with refining those first, then worry about refining the production. :D
