  • SCREENAME CHANGES AND THREAD DELETIONS

I'm tired of using my current screename. I want it changed. Can I change it?
    Can you delete my account?
No and no. The main reasons for not allowing account deletions or screenname changes, is that it changes our database, which may cause issues with the performance of our server. Sorry.

There are threads that I started that I regret now. Can you delete some of my old threads?
Unfortunately no. The internet is a permanent thing now. Most of the internet is being archived every 24 hours by 3rd party organizations. Here on this forum we have faith in everyone that they'll think twice before clicking submit, and act like adults.

    EVENT LISTINGS
Why was my event listing moved/deleted? You're being unfair to promoters. We have it hard enough.
The rules of the event forums are very specific. They're there so that every single event that includes some dubstep get's an equal shot at forum traffic. We don't endorse or favor any specific set of promoters or camps. Obviously event nights that have pioneered the dubstep scene (FWD, DMZ>> for example) will be treated differently as they've earned the right of preferential treatment.
If you're the biggest promoter from your city, and you've run the biggest Hip Hop parties for 20 years, that's not going to effect your listing space on this forum. There are dozens of Electronic Music Forums elsewhere that you can post about every genre known to humanity. Our priority here is dubstep dj's, producers and labels. The events sections are all tightly spaced and crucial to this music, so we're going to be hard on the rules.

    RADIO SHOWS
Where should I post info about my radio show?
Please post all radio show announcements in the Dubstep Forum in your shows Roll Call thread.
Please post all radio show archives in the Mixes Forum only.
Radio threads posted to the other forums will be moved.

    AVATARS
Why does my avatar look like crap?
Avatars are set to 100pixel x 100pixel at the Maximum. Your browser will automatically crunch down or up your pixels to match 100x100. This means that if you post a 150x100 avatar (jpg, gif, jpeg), you're going to have a crap avatar. Make your avatar 100x100 for optimum results. If you don't know how to resize images, then god help you. Try google.

RULES Ver5.0(OCT 2008) Moderators : Boomnoise, Conspira , LittleBohPeep , Thin King , Joe Nice. BunZer0

First and foremost, this is a music forum. Keep that in mind. This place was started to bring people together. Bring music lovers together. We like to think of this place as an experiment of positivity. Global bass culture. You wouldn't trash up your own neighborhood, so please take the negativity and strife elsewhere.

One love.

The Dubstepforum Crew.

  • 1. INAPPROPRIATE / OFFENSIVE CONTENT:
DO NOT post any of the following content on any part of this forum.
-RACIST or ANTI-RELIGIOUS word's, image's, video's, audio, symbols, icon's or link's to websites where they can be found.
    -DEATH/BLOODY/GORE or BLATANTLY DISTASTEFUL word's, image's, video's, audio, symbols, icon's or links.

(We have a NSFW forum for members to use. All content that is NSFW will be moved to the appropriate forum).

    2. TROLLING / AGGRESSIVE / ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR

Examples of situations that we consider Trolling /Aggressive or Abusive:

-Baiting/Antagonizing forum members for the sole purpose of dragging them into a conflict or threatening situation.

-Using the Private Messaging (PM's) system to create threatening or abusive situations.

-Creating threads or posts that are slanderous or libelous to any other member of the forum. Here are the dictionary definitions for both:
    Oxford Dictionary defines :
Slan~der :the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.
Li~bel : a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation. a false and malicious statement about a person. a thing or circumstance that brings undeserved discredit on a person by misrepresentation.

-Dark suggestive "jokes" on subjects like suicide, rape, etc. All discussion in regards to harming oneself will be taken offline or edited at the discretion of the moderating team.

-Discussing highly dramatic topics of an intimate personal nature or revealing intimate details about any member of the forum; without their consent or in a way that is meant to be abusive.
(Examples: Posting pictures of another forum member without respecting their rights to privacy, Posting phone numbers, addresses, emails, job details, discussing intimate situations, etc).

-Spamming the forum with endless crap in a deliberate manner. Spamming is also excessively promoting yourself, your tunes, mixes or products via the Private Messaging system. .

-Excessive posting in a manner meant only to draw attention to oneself. Diverting a topic, or changing the subject discussed only to promote yourself, your products or your own URL's (myspace/facebook/virb, etc). Posting the same flyers or links in several threads, or on several sub-forums during the same day. Bumping your own promotion type threads more than 3 times in the same day or more than 3 times a day over a run of consecutive days. Promoting your own label's mp3 releases, using separate threads for every single mp3, instead of putting them all in one thread. Getting the same handful of forum friends to continually bump your promotional threads over the course of a week or over consecutive days. Posting massive flyers or a list of url's in your posts or in threads in a consistent pattern, not considering the topics at hand or the things being discussed.

-Creating alias accounts and or/using multiple accounts in order to disrupt discussions or create highly dramatic or abusive situations. The moderators reserve the right to reveal aliases publicly should the situation demand it.

-Being abusive ,antagonistic or physically threatening towards the forum itself, the moderators or admins.
WARNING / FORUM BAN / EDITING / LOCKING / REMOVING wrote:
Banning a member of the forum is not taken lightly.

In any of the situations above, the moderating team will make their decisions on a case by case basis. If the moderators or admins receive complaints about a situation, they reserve the right to take the thread in question offline temporarily, or lock it, until a decision can be made.

Forum members risk losing their forum priviledges (Avatars, Private Messaging) and if the situation is really pushing the limits of the rules or there has been a consistent pattern of behavior, the member/s will be given either a warning, temporary ban, or a permanent ban.

The moderators also reserve the right to edit, lock, temporarily remove or delete outright, anything posted to the forum, anywhere on the site. This can be done with explanation or without. Content that is overly hateful or distasteful to the overall community vibes will be immediately deleted.

We have a long standing "no delete" rule, so things that do get removed, are removed for good reasons and only in very rare circumstances.

If you've got a problem with a member's behavior, please make a PM complaint to any of the Moderator's or Admin. Make sure you link or quote from the offensive post in the PM to us. The Moderators and Admin will decide on what course of action to take. Please understand that it might take up 2-5 days.

Threads selling Production/DJ related equipment (Example : Selling a Mixer, Selling a SL1200, Selling Logic Audio) are only to be posted in the Production Forum as long as they're personal sales from a registered forum member. -If the moderator's or admin's receive complaints in regards to unauthorized tunes in a mix, the mix may be removed from the forum immediately. Forum member's continually posting up unauthorized tune's in mixes will face a loss of forum priviledges and/or an immediate forum ban, the nature of which to be determined on a case by case basis.

-If a thread is full of numerous posts filled with questionable p2p related info it may be deleted outright with a full explanation posted to the thread starter as well as the main forum.

-A thread with only a few posts regarding questionable p2p related info will be edited and left online.

-A thread with p2p related info that generates complaints sent to the Admin or Moderators will be deleted outright. In certain situations the Admin and Moderators reserve the right to do this without explanation.
