things that are killing dubstep at the moment

Post by jason burns » Tue Nov 17, 2009 5:07 pm

due to my busy schedule I sometimes find it hard to keep up with what is currently killing the scene. I can't be bothered to wade through countless posts. I thought it would be more efficient to have a comprehensive list of everything that's killing the scene in one thread. sticky?
OK i'll get it started.

I think the handcut fries upstairs at the clevland spot are killing dubstep, they taste too damn good and get your fingers in a mess. Or the monster in the Casa Burns pond may pick us off one by one, either way we're doomed, doomed I tell thee DOOMED!

the main gripe for many people that tie into several of those are a lack of variety compared to 05-07

I heard there is a global-worldwide-international conspiracy against dubstep, involving all the nations of the world.

I would say there's a ton more variety now but it takes more effort to find it because there are so many more producers on the sound these days. It's a great scene to be a part of so it was always gonna go this way, if nobody got on it then it wouldn't say much for dubstep really.

sure the stuff exists out there but finding a night is another matter entirely...it is largely down to a combination of it's massively increased popularity and the majority of peoples criteria for music not fitting in with dubsteps initial ethos

Must be were your living then bruv, I've always got plenty of variety in terms of parties to choose from here. With you living in london I find it hard to believe you can't find a night to suit your tastes, dmz/fwd/dub police at fabric, rinse at matter and thats just the big ones.

As far as dubsteps original ethos , I think many of the foundation artists/producers etc would agree that the scene is thriving off of that ethos, no rules no boundaries, freestyle sonic exploration at around 140 bpm.

theres always freedom to do whatever you want...just the people that get big out of nowhere all seem to be doing the same thing...anyway this is pointless...i can see where you stand...many people aren't on the same page

I felt like it may have been my last meal and that the pond monster may take me in my sleep, fortunatly I lived another day (although the flu i had at the time felt more like the last few days before death) and alas I am free to murder more handcut fries the next time we pass through to drop some bass weight.

FYI all you cleveland cats should come down to nyc for nye, it's gonna be legendary!!!!!
