Well they're UK based so I can't speak for America nd beyond but I get a good 800kb/s. I would upload a file to let you d/l to test but I maintain for other people so its not "actually" my space, I just run it, deal with everything web and get paid once a month :W:

but they're the best host ive found - Cheapest too, loads of hosting companies slag them off cause their prices and service are so good they're stealing bare peoples business

I used to use bluehost.com
No complaints, and i'm planning on using them again. True unlimited bandwidth as well, I was transfering 100+ gigs a month easy sometimes and they didn't say anything. They have good multimedia support including video/audio streaming of many types, a nice control panel (cPanel), linux based w/ apache and supports SSH, cronjobs, background processes etc etc.

I'm currently with http://geeksrv.net/

No complaints so far. :)

Just a heads up: from what I've read, having a domain and web space with the same company is a bad idea. If something goes wrong, it is harder to sort out. Register your domain with someone different to your webhost.

Furthermore, 'unlimited' doesn't exist. Hardrives are not unlimited, neither is the capacity of cables.

I'd recommend reading some webhosting forums such as those listed below. You can post a request for web companies to offer you their customised services. Work out roughly what you need before chosing a host. I've currently got a reseller acount as that suits my needs.

Well yeah, it's a marketing tactic, but what it means is they won't run out, since disk storage and bandwidth are dirt cheap these days they can increase disk space forever if they want by adding more drives.. and most people won't ever use what's allocated to them anyway.

On the last server I had over 3 terabytes one time without any problems, because I was also using it as online backup storage lol, and also downloading files straight to the server using wget and then getting them from home later like my own file archive. I only had to contact them to ask for more every 500GB. That's way more than most people will need i'm sure. They didn't seem to care since I was paying and not using it for illegal stuff.
