mEtAlStEp ...hard dubstep with death metal growls, "blast -

Post by kp mike » Thu Nov 26, 2009 1:56 am

beats" doublepedal kickdrums, church organs and brostep midrange terror bass... are there any tips to make the most hardest satanic dubstep tune? I really want to have a go. I've got some death-growl acapellas
I want the metalstep movement to HAPPEN. watch this space as I make the hardest/darkest dubstep tune ever.

Not lost at all, but on the right path!   :5:

Probably the easiest way is to work directly with a metal band. Get the original recordings of the band and remix them the way you think it should be done.

I look forwards to hearing this as it's something I've wanted to do myself for a while ;)

Or if you need a quick fix, find some guitar samples (Reason factory Soundbank cwill do the trick) and shove it through a shit load of distortion....! 8)

"guitar hero" effects rack in ableton over a clean guitar could also get you started if you're not using reason.

the cross pollination between dark dubstep, heavy drum and bass with bands like converge is UNDENIABLE. good luck on your quest into the darkside may the fear bring you closer to this sound

id like to see how that idea pans out for the OG poster.. i know its sort of taboo but i come from a metal/rock background myself but am into producing all types of music i enjoy listening to... when you combine styles . to me , its all about tastefulness

my tips to the OG poster would be to use some overdrive and other guitar type distortions on synths and also layering them, also use compression on some synths as an effect... and play with the fulltime / halftime back and forth, even go doubletime

i got some heavier joints on my soundcloud... dont quite know what genre they fall into but my influences was dubstep, industrial and some hip hop
