Pioneer of the darkstep sound, heavy metal influenced Distance crunches around the dubstep fraternity like a kid amongst Lego. Now a towering figure, Distance has been involved since the very beginning. A regular slot on London's Rinse Fm and two albums under his belt has seen Distance rise to superstar status with his proper dark and heavy dubstep! Trust Bournemouth this is a real Birthday treat!

Disgusting, dirty, rugged mid range wobble on mass: straight dirt for the jump up massive! Bar 9 have been mashing up dance floors across the country with their pure raw sound. This is the Beat Redemption (and Bournemouth) debut for the Bar9 boys. BIG TINGS GWAN!

THE FREEFALL COLLECTIVE

The Freefall Collective explore dub, breaks and funk with their forward thinking sound. Their music is pure dance floor POWER with raw bass lines, brock-out riddims and soaring synth. Fronted by Bournemouth superstar MC Manic the Freefall have been knocking socks off, with praise and plays all over the country! Live performances at Glastonbury, Glade, Fabric and Shambhala have seen them raise there already high profile even higher! After a massive first gig at Beat Redemption back in May we simply had to get them back for our Birthday line-up!!!

8FOLD

Hailing from Wales, England, France and East Africa, now permanent residents of the UK, 8Fold have been stunning audiences with their inimitable brand of GYP HOP. Fusing together styles such as Hip Hop, Jazz, Funk and Drum and Bass, the end product sounds like the Streets fixing their BMX while Pendulum has a joke with Tower of Power over how much gaffer tape it would take to completely cover a swan. The vibe in the band is tight and fun and this is abundantly apparent in their energetic, engaging and exciting performances… This is one act you must see live!

MASSI & THE RATDEAL

The 3-4am Massi Mash Up (usually with guests) has become a mainstay of Beat Redemption events. The original Beat Redeemer provides the final lick-down before the after parties begin. Partnered pon-decs by bad man Ratdeal expect a host of new collaborative productions, disfigured dubs, and downright dangerous beats.

THE JOIN THE DOTS COLLECTIVE

The Join The Dots collective will be kicking off proceedings on the main stage with a live improvised jam. Feeding off audience reactions they tailor their sound to suit the vibe. Proper mad-tek music!

CONTEXT MC

It’s been only 18 months since Context MC released his debut EP ‘Dialectics’. BBC Radio 1’s, Huw Stephens introduced everyone to the innovative sound, which he deemed “absolutely brilliant”! Dub Hop: dubstep infused hip-hop is what Context calls it. Context Mc has earned praise for his “strong, vibrant originality” (britishhiphop.co.uk) and has impressed BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Ras Kwame with his “banging hip hop”. Performing live upstairs we welcome the Context Mc for his Beat Redemption debut.

INC & MEDISDON WITH HIGHER ELEMENTS

INC Began rapping at the age of 15; and has since dominated the battle scene winning The Jump Offs monthly battles a staggering 4 times in a row! Although only recording hip hop, INC is known for his versatile style, which has seen him undertaken hip hop, dub-step and even grime live sets. Accompanied by his DJ (Medison) and fellow lyricist Higher Elements these boys are set to drop self produced hip-hop beats and spit raw lyrics all over their upstairs takeover.

The Rogue Robots provide a filthy mix of avalanche inducing basslines, stomping beats and tearing riffs. Spurned on by the fact that its now cheaper to make your own tunes rather than buy them (Credit Crunch and all) Rogue Robots have set about making a host of tunes for your dance floor pleasure.
