I'm kind of eying Reaktor. Does anyone here have any experience with it? I should say that I'm more musician minded rather than computer programmer minded. While I do enjoy doing sound design, I find myself composing more often. I do have a lot of analog synths (hardware) and do all of my own programming, but as far as a modular environment like max/msp or reaktor, I don't really have a lot of experience.

I'm not really sure what my question is, I guess I'm asking what other people's experiences are and if they think a program like this might be good for a more musician minded rather than programmer minded person?

Cheers!

Peoples opinions on this or Z3ta+???

both the same price atm and i can't decide.... i just can't get over the fact that z3ta+ is modelled on the virus..... seems pretty sweet to me... also i have a shitty laptop and i heard NI stuffs eats up the memory real quick....

Is it a myth that different synths have different sound quality?

I said fuck it and finally bought reaktor.

That's me pissing around with little boxes making silly noises for the next 3 years then.

Haha, same here. Was only the other week I said I'm gonna stick to what I know but seems way too good a deal to pass up.
Even if you don't know or even want to know how to build your own stuff inside Reaktor, there's quality instruments and effects that come with it, not to mention the thousands of free user generated content available on the NI website.

Bargain, you would be mad not to cop Reaktor for $99, just for the access to the user library alone even if you never build your own synths of effects.

I just bagged Reaktor!! I was trying to decide how much time I wanted to invest trying to learn this program but then I was like, fuck it, time to get my hands dirty. We have a cold, wet winter coming up and I will be spending much time in my studio anyways!

Waiting for the download to finish!!!...
