Neither really understand.
The bass hurts my mums teeth and my dad looks a bit vacant when he hears it.
I dont live with my folks though so they dont get bombarded with dubstep all the time, i suppose if i did live with them my mum would have her teeth removed and my dad would still have a vacant look on his face.

My old dear likes it, she often asks for a CD of my latest tunes or mixes to listen to.. She likes the soulful/deep side, reminds her of early 90s triphop/down tempo stuff and the culture as well as the music has a post-punk ethos.
I guess it just depends on how open minded they are.. I often find with age people often lose interest in music and are not open to new stuff.

My dad likes a bunch of the dubstep I play for him. Pinch - Brighter Day/Qawwali is his favorite tune.

my mom didn't mind the relaxed, more chill dubstep, which didnt surprise me. what did surprise me is that she pretty much likes every nero remix

i borrowed my mums car the other day, and left one of my cd's in there. next day she starts tellin me how she loves noah d's general remix. then the other day i heard her explain it to my dad sayin "no,no, you've got to have the bass turned up!".showin her some wolf man and other stuff, she says she finds it really easy to listen to. thought id be nice and made sure that when she started the car the next day, when the radio turned on, chainsaw calligraphy dropped on full volume. this she did not enjoy.
