Where my synesthetes at?

Post by djelements » Tue Dec 08, 2009 1:13 am

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia
It's where you see/smell/taste sound, or anything like that.

I have it, it's badass.

no one who has this thinks it's badass. are you a tnuc?
I know one person who's severely affected by it, makes her life quite difficult. mine's not very hardcore but i can feel colours and sounds in the sense of them having textures and densities, however it's a constant sensation so unless you concentrate on it it's less apparent.

I've read that many people have it to some degree and one of the most common is the conjunction of our conception of time and space, people visualise time as objects. One might, for instance, feel a circle like a clock-face as the year with the date indicated by our position at about 11 o clock.

people who pretend to have synaesthesia to come across as arty aren't very clever.

There's this lass I know, a journalist and researcher for a paper and apart from being a fucking lunatic she swears she has got this. Which she may well have but it's how she goes about it, total fucking idiot.

It makes me enjoy music doubly, because if something sounds good, I get pleasant patterns and colors that go through my head while I listen. I don't have it really hardcore, but what I do have feels like a gift rather than a curse.

Also, Firks, your friend sounds annoying as shit.

My mate has this. Every single letter (and hence every word) has a colour. Pretty fucking wierd if you ask me!

I experienced it on an acid trip but never got it again after that.
