Any. Its not your DAW, is how you use it.

p.s you don't need to capital every word.

FL Studio all the way.

You can record audio directly into the program.
You can use VST's
The built in effects are top notch! (PEQ2 & Lovephilter anyone?? 8))
It can be used as a Rewire host or slave.
It is skinnable.

:z:

Ps, + 1 on Legend4ry comment about capitalising every word

Both! Thats what I use, ReWire makes it all so intricaely tangled and messy, yet fuckin beautiful...

N Im just once again gonna recommend that while your diggin through the propellorhead collection, look at ReNoise.

I like both but found re wire to be a pile of shit.

If you want to edit things or just play bits from the sequencer in Reason you cannot?! you have to push play from FL and play all that shit too!

You also have the problem with the samplers not playing all the samplers correctly while in Rewire mode. I have seen this on a number of computers so it is not just mine.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

feature wise fl studio kills reason. but at the end of the day it all comes down to you the individual and what you're most comfortable working in. i like using renoise and reason at the moment. but if i was told i had to pick between fl studio and reason i'd pick reason, because i like the program, the interface and i enjoy working with it.

try the demos out and see what you like.

i will add that i think reason is a great learning tool. it has all the tools right there in the box and you aren't distracted by the countless plugins out there (that can be a good or bad thing...). for making dubstep reason is more than satisfactory and when (or if) you begin to feel limited by the program you can move onto something else.

Thats like saying, i only want track 3 to play but all the others keep playing too.

They are sharing the same engine, so yeah of course its all gonna play together, im not sure about playing samples incorrectly, care to explain?

Wheres your audio anyway Serox? i always check your myspace for a mix or a track of yours but have never heard any of your stuff.

Soz for the hijack OP :e:

FLstudio xxl is now called signature edition btw wich adds maximus (its not just a maximizer tool its also an multiband/compressor , limiter, desser and expander) and hardcore (guitar effect). Most of the plugs come as vst version , so you can use them in other daws too. As a long time FL user i prefer it everytime over reason , but reason is good too ,just different. No 3rd party vst are just a show stopper for me. Okay you can work with rewire. I kinda like the closed archecture of reason too.
Its all about persosnal taste and workflow at all. Soundwise i wouldnt say any daw is superior by its own. Maybe reason is the better a pack to start with, flstudio gives you more options later IMO.

i've only briefly played with Reason, and i've been using FL for a couple years now, so my opinion may be slightly bias....

So.... I'll leave it at this: FL FUCKING RAWKZ

@Bazzle09: I have a few things on the go but want to try and get things released if possible. There are loads of sets on google at different places that have been recorded. I mix loads of genres but if you tell me what you are into I can point you in the right direction! I have recently been linked to a set recorded at a club a couple of years ago that is Electro, proper Electro using mostly records from these two labels

http://www.discogs.com/label/Direct+Beat
http://www.discogs.com/artist/Underground+Resistance

Discogs and also on here in the mixes area has sets going from New Beat to Techno.

@brisance, thanks! hopefully some will be released one day.

Started out on reason cause it's probably the best for getting to learn the functionality of Synths, RVB, EQ, Comping ect
But Fruity slays reason as you can use VST's, Thor is a decent Synth but find all the reason synths too limiting, get a copy of FL9, Native Instruments Massive, a few sample packs and you're good to go bro!!
