Whats Your Favourite Layer?

Post by JimmaJamJamie » Mon Jan 11, 2010 3:53 pm

So what is your favourite Autonomic Podcast Layer?

Mine would have to be Layer 08, the tunes on that are lovely (I am just talking about the Mix Section by the way).

Also i feel abit ashamed to say this but does anyone just skip the influences to just listen to the Mix? I just wanna hear the new tunes so much i never listen to the influences .

 I'm sorry! The only influences mix that i have heard was on dBridge - Rinse FM 4th November 2009. The tunes on that were sick, especially Autechre - Arch Carrier

was just re-listening to some autonomic podcasts tonite, for me it's a tough call between layer 02 and 06, they're both so damn good!!!

layer 02 takes you somewhere dark and brings you out the other side happy - and i'm talking really dark then really happy :D

and layer 06 (which probs is my favourite) just sounds so fresh everytime i hear it (and we're talking 50+ listens!!) theres sumthin about the synkro tunes, the commix remix and the older instra:mental tunes that just work so well together, the first time i listened to it there were points when i literally thought; what the fuck is this music!!............ amazing is what it is.

layer 08 is really good too.

oh and you've GOT to check the influences, i've found so much good music i've never heard before from them.

four for that consequence 'snakes and skulls' bit into 'voyeur'
five for 'melodies' into 'the touch'
six for 'end credits'
seven for having one of the best intros to a mix ever - when that asc bit finally unloads the first bassline it murders me every time

probably five overall. regardless, most exciting musical occurrence of 2009 by a country mile

Yeah Layer 06 is a biggen. Proper 80's vibes on it. I will check out the influences next time round.

My girlfriend is into Autonomic now, i was playing pretty much all the Layers when she was round and now she likes them and downloaded them once she got home. Mission accomplish :).

I'm gonna go backwards through them since I didn't start until L10- The influences on Layer10 were some of my favorite parts .. I listen to the whole thing again.
