It's temporarily out of stock on amazon.co.uk. Noticed it's cheaper and in stock on amazon.com though.

I got it as I thought it'd be useful for my course (studying music).
Parts are very interesting, but I should warn you it's very theoretical, if you aren't interested in studying music/sound at a university-level i'd give it a miss.

Basically what tobo said; I purchased it recently as a late Xmas present (which was deemed, 'lame' by relatives I requested it from), and it's been difficult to digest. But still, a lot of the elements and concepts are incredibly fascinating. Still, not that good if you're looking for sort of a 'music book' sort of reading. It's more of a history of sound itself.
