Older Warp / Rephlex stuff

Post by subeena » Mon Jan 01, 2007 2:33 am

(..i called it like that just cause i think the name Intelligent Dance Music -IDM is actually a bit crap...)

besides aphex twin.. squarepusher and autechre...
it's been a couple of years at least i havent listened to them so i forgot loads of tunes titles..(except of uviol)

mostly squarepusher: "feed me weird things" includes some of my favourite tunes ever i think..."kodack" is ridiculous...and squarepushers theme was amzing too..."beep street" is the first one that caught my attention and properly killed me but i cant remember the release.
i see what ppl mean when they say he's exaggerated sometimes but i still think he's a genius...
and btw im quite sure the releases of those years influenced a huge part of electronic music producers

There's obviously something wrong with me. I just don't get the fuss about squarepusher.

I've just got a new ipod and have started podding all my old CDs, so I'm getting back into the good ol days of electronica.

The Black Dog and ('Trainer'-era) Plaid were the tits. Probably some of my favourite music. Ever.

Some stuff Boards of canada have put out is amongst the best stuff I've ever heard. I'm listening to chosen lords by AFX this second and stunned at how I've ignored it for so long. Fucking incredible tunes on this one.
Today I've had one of those days where I've gone back to albums I've not given much time and decided I love them... Took this long for me to realise how good memories of the future is

Couple years ago I met the guys from Plaid at a show. I told them the best thing I thought they had made was bytes, as much as I like the plaid stuff.

They agreed.

Gotta respect that, no? They could have understood me as saying "you've done nothing good since your first album"...when I only meant that a lttle. LOL
