Making custom midicontroller Help with printing the words??

Post by Synephonix » Sat Feb 13, 2010 1:57 pm

Hey guys!

I've been working on a project with my two bcf's and bcr controllers.
I want to make one big controller out of it. I have a friend who can make
the wooden / metal casing. Since i use the bcf's in mackie emulation mode and
the bcr in 1 preset wich controls all i need. I want to have custom faceplates too
so all the exact functions are displayed.

Now here's the problem, how can i print these words on a metal faceplate?
Are there stores or something where i can let them do that for a small fee?
Or can i do it by myself? I thought of making a sticker template and cut the words
out then painting it on. But this seems impossible since the letters are soo damn small.

Some ideas would really be apriciated, i will post pics when i get started/finish the product!
I hope you can help me with this so i can start today!

Thanx

if youre making it out of metal, you could try going to a trophy place and getting them to engrave it for you?
or just get one of those label makers for a more DIY look :D

look up circuit board priniting at home... they make these special kits where you print your text out on this lil card, lay the card down n put this acidetch jelly stuff on it... then you just gotta put some paint in the recesses it makes.

That's it! Thanx alot ima try ordering a kit. Since i like customizing it will definitely come in use later anyway.

For the people using a BCF in mackie mode, i've made a template some time ago.
The only thing you need to do is print it out on sticker paper and paste it on the
bcf. It has all functions on it. I will post it in a new thread.
