Trying to get into Dubstep

Post by Kastro » Mon Mar 01, 2010 3:19 pm

Hi,
Im trying to get into Dubstep, total love the sound of it all but really at a loss where to start. So can you please recommend me some essential albums that I should purchase?

Much would be appreciated.

Burial is an obvious choice and the dubstep allstars volumes.

and check deep medi releases vol. 1 for, what's in my humble opinion, the better side of the scene.

also buy phaeleh's album 'within the emptiness' - all amazing stuff.

and one track that i rediscovered recently is pangaea - memories.

enjoy :D

This is a classic, and perhaps my favorite.

SCUBA- A Mutual Antipathy

These two tie for the best album of last year.

SILKIE- City Limits

KRYPTIC MINDS- One Of Us

Also the first Box of Dub compilation on Soul Jazz is essential, as well as the Steppa's Delight series.

Don't sleep on-
Mala
Skream
Distance
Kromestar
Joker
Martyn
Untold
Noah D

That oughta get you started.

I don't know where you start these days, there is just so much out there. I got started on Joe Nice mixes and then purchased as many Storming, Hotflush and Tempa records as I could find.
