dubkulture is no more

i knew the format was changing hence i wasnt booking anyone but they told me tonight on the night that next week isnt gonna be on

so thats it...

i now look like a tnuc to anyone i booked but its totally out of my hands

theres gonna be a monthly event on a sunday but its not gonna just dubstep...and tbh i dont think its gonna be deep or underground so im not sure i wanna be involved but we will see i guess...they want me to work on this event with them

had a really good time at this...

played some classics...dropped goat stare, i, killing floor & some others as well as gemmy, gravious, hawerchuk (fucking went nuts), king cannibal, new distance plate...

was a sick night and im gonna be playin every wednesday now it looks like

not getting paid coda money but fuck it its a laugh

only weird thing was a powercut at 1130 ended it early but it was already awesome by that point...

it was a strictly dubstep branded night....it does so well they figured get someone who isnt a name whose got the records to play and it was very busy!

actually had a bigger turnout than i had for my events that i spent a grand on

but yeah im just gonna be playin vinyl which is fun and more involved than playing off ableton....maybe i will go over to the dark/light side and be 100% vinyl from now on...

how do i go about telling people to give me specials lol?

a weekly slot could mean good exposure for their tunes if i like em...

gonna spend the entire fee i get each week on records ive decided...ill probably order in what i can to hmv and buy em with discount and get the upfront stuff from blackmarket and sister ray

bought a load of wax over the last few days...some mala, silkie, coki & loefah....gonna try and build the ultimate collection on top of the gems i already have from back them and regularly play them out

this may sound elitist but i'd like it if the crowd was a bit less datsik lovin students and a bit more appreciative of when i drop the goat stare

so if more snh members came it would redress the balance

just do it man... i played out few days back and did a really deep set. kokeshi-podcast-like.... they just need a little bit time man! they all felt it. luckely the system was a big one.
so just do it. when you feel it, they will feel it!

last week went down pretty well as i really mixed up styles so they had a bit of wobble to brock to...

I am looking through what i have and realised i just don't have enough wobble to play a different set every week...

I want to play different tunes each week but i think to do that i will need to play mainly deep stuff...

it really is that bad now that i am going to be bombarded with requests for the usual list of shit producers

oh well i guess i should start playing out datsik tunes

no i did man...i never play out tracks i don't enjoy...i like all types of dubstep but it's depressing being asked for the same shit producers during some big tunes beig dropped!

I need to improve my skills on the vinyl and practice makes perfect innit....

last week went down ok...just hoping i can buy some good hype tracks soon before i run out

get rainbow sequence man.... when i put this on everyone including me flyes right off to the stars....
