Why cant wobble and Dub heads just get along?

Post by Southbound hangers » Sat Mar 06, 2010 7:41 pm

I love deep dubstep, the dubby side of dubstep was what initially attracted me to it back in the day before the term 'brostep' was ever shit out of someones poo hole. I also like the wobblely stuff. Why all the beef.......? Discuss?

yeah, and on the same note there are lots of shit tunes made in each style as well. some styles get over played at some nights with DJs that are either giving the majority of people there what they want to hear, or are just clueless on what dubstep is. regardless, i agree and always try to play the full spectrum of dubstep, because each style really does have it's place in a night.

from what i've seen i think quite a few people consider the whole "brostep" thing as a lack of musical maturity, they see it intended for the sweaty ravers that wanna bounce around to the nastiest sounds whilst trying to chew on their eyebrows
i could be wrong but its just the feeling i get!
personally i like and produce both, obviously the nastier stuff foremost as it what's been/being released, but i can sit and listen to both the heavier and deeper stuff at home because it's what i like, not just out at a night when im pissed. each one takes time, effort and talent to make so if you're hearing it out you're hearing it for a reason
people can like what they want but it just grates me that people slate artists musical ability just because they make heavier stuff

but @dirt you're spot on! haha this place would collapse without the beef

I like it when tunes don't fit into boxes. Distance blew my mind with Beyond- which category does an amazing piece of music like that fit into? And why in the fuck would you ever want to limit your appreciation of it by cramming it into one?

everyone carry on with what they do and how they do it. there's way too much "where are we now..." talk, when its largely irrelevant. if you can't find a party that supports the sound you like, find another party.

Why cant wobble and Dub heads just get along?

But I do.

Yes, you do.

After all, wob is
a rub of the dub.

True say.

And dub created wobble, some say.

Inspired perhaps.

Yeah

Well, is that all?

Labels are for people who aren't true music fans, end of.

There isn't many tunes at all,(I would struggle to find 5 I think actually) that I don't like within "dubstep".

The beef only exists on the internet to be honest, i have never in my 12 years history of raves, parties, clubs, gigs and festivals....across a fucking MASSIVE range of sounds and genres....not fucking once have i had an argument with people over music in real life. I've had discussions, i've had passionate debate and i've had 6am blissed out apparent group epiphanies.

It's all internet bullshit normally, people generally don't act like this in real life because they either have more manners, or just talk a lot of shit on the internet because it's easy to be a tnuc when seperated from the risk of getting a slap in the mouth for being just that. :D

All styles are good when done properly...with the wobbles in my opinion needs atleast abit of melody on it if u knw wot i mean. not jus a single not repeated through out a 16bar loop
