Making RL photos LOOK like they've been photoshopped

Post by WatchYourStep » Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:29 am

Can anybody tell me if there's a website featuring real-life photos that are taken to look like they've been photoshopped, but they haven't? ex:

Well maybe not exactly what you mean, but 2 things that come to mind are HDR photography, and the popular chalk street art.
The HDR pics are actual real photos rendered digitally, which gives them a CG/photoshop look, but it's still very cool. The chalk ones are real optical illusion artwork. There's many websites with these, just look up HDR Photography and Chalk art (Julian Beever for the chalk art).

I've heard about HDR photography before, but this is sick! I thought all HDR had to be of still life, b/c you have to take 3 or 4 different exposures??? :? I wonder how the camera could take 3 pictures of a moving car that fast...

Those HDRs are incredible, such a great tonal effect.
I am currently in love with Smallgantics...

The Thom Yorke - Harrowdown Hill video uses the effect, makes things appear as though they are tiny with crazy depth of field/focal effects but it's just a standard shot

also these are good - http://www.cracked.com/article_18444_17 ... opped.html

You can do it from one pic if you're shooting RAW. You got much more control and lossless editing that way. You can change the exposure after shooting

Yeh its based on Tilt-Shift but is slightly different. I think Bent labs modernised the effect and coined the smallgantics name but in essence it's the same idea.

It takes a single shot but because it is RAW it can change the ISO and exposure on the fly post shot. I am not keen on HDR but that is a cool photo.

Edit: DRTY beat me to it.

I agree with that, HDR pisses me off. It's cool the first time you see it for a while, but then it's a bit tedious. WELL DONE YOU COMBINED THREE PHOTOS TO MAKE IT UNREALISTICLY DYNAMIC.

Guess it's a similiar effect to this:
