His production are so organic though.

i think its more in his techniques than his gear or programs, i remember reading that hazyville is a selection of stuff made over 5 years on several different bits of software

Actress uses a lot of side chaining and saturation. You can hear theo parrish's influence in all of actress tracks, Theo parrish used to record whatever the fuck he could record and use those recording as percussions, drum kits, etc. He also got a passion for dub techno so most of his sounds are 7th chords with filtered synths... Etc.

He uses heavy saturation and clipping as a desired effect.. Like Flying lotus stuff.
