LOC001 - T Williams EP (Deep Teknologi)

first 12" on my label, out next month. Three tracks by T. Williams from Deep Teknologi, all killer and to be played loud.

audio can be found here.

Reactions:

“Still loving Anthem, will be supporting that and Afric. Perfect for my show!”—Sinden
“Thanks man, tune [Anthem] is sick”—Kode 9
“Thanks for these. Afric is big!”—Ramadanman
“Anthem is definitely an anthem. I’ll be playing it out as much as possible”—Ikonika
“Thanks guys, liking these”—2565 / A Made Up Sound
“Have played on Rinse, really good stuff, will continue to support”—Alexander Nut
“Really feeling. Will give ‘em a spin on Rinse”—Brackles
“Loving your stuff need some in my crate!”—L-Vis 1990
“I’ve been hammering both Afric and Anthem hard. The tracks sit comfortably in both house and funky territory but they've got some alien physics to them as well. Overly sick”—Bok Bok
“Thanks for the tunes. It's interesting to listen to something slightly outside what I would normally play. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play them out”—Martin Kemp
“Some serious low end pressure, this.”—Shortstuff
“Sick tunes, thanks for sending the EP on”—Greena
“Thanks very much, all big tunes”—Hyetal
“Yo, loving the tunes”—Kowton
Radio 1's Mary Anne Hobbs also supporting.

"Deep Teknologi's sound is modern and hard but steeped in house tradition, riding a line between the past and the future that does it for us every time."—FACT

"Also worth checking is Deep Teknologi's 'Anthem'"—Pitchfork

"Afric' is the best example of this: a simple organ figure pivoting above tightly locked percussion and bass, but brimming with such an excess of energy that it seems a wonder that there isn’t a set of musicians performing it live in front of you. Recalling Miles Davis and mnml (shhh) in equal measure, it’s one of the best dancefloor tunes I’ve heard in a long time, sending the mind out on a Sun Ra-style tangent towards the heart of the solar system"—Sonic Router

"To put it succinctly, the T Williams EP is astounding ... makes for a hell of a proper arrival and T Williams and the rest of the Deep Teknologi crew have nowhere to go but up; we’ll be lucky if they let us ride their smooth, perfect percussion on the ascent with them."—onethirtyBPM

Amazing stuff. 'Anthem' and 'Afric' are massive, the whole EP is probably the best house/funky/whatever thing I've heard this year so far.
