Having showcased a range of artists from across the UK we at AKA ROAR felt it was important to pay our dues to some of the local DJ's & dubstep heads who have made the Brighton scene what it is today.
UNLIKELY, co-founder, manager and promoter of the Brighton dubstep establishment that is DUBPRESSURE and record label CLANDESTINE CULTIVATIONS has been at the centre of dubstep in Brighton since it reared its wobbly head. Whilst holding down residencies at UNSOUND, SUPERCHARGED, CARBON, PLAYGROUP and SUBFM, Tom has been bringing dubstep's finest down to Brighton for years to put on some heavy raves in almost all of Brighton's venues from the VOLKS to CONCORDE 2. UNLIKELY is a DJ without par in Brighton and we are pleased to be able to invite him behind the decks at AKA ROAR.

ELLFIVEDEE, a garage and dubstep DJ is another who has been heavily involved in the Brighton dubstep scene. He has played slots at DUBPRESSURE, DUBFORMULA and RESONANCE, as well as rocking Life for us at AKA ROAR on a number of occasions, and has earn't a weekly slot on SUBFM (Wednesdays 2-4pm). An up and coming DJ who has been making waves in our sunny town we know that the 1210's will be in safe hands and look forward to his unique blend of dubstep and garage.

BEN WHITE, our weekly AKA resident will be joining the above for this celebration of the Brighton dub scene. Ben is not only a top-notch DJ, but he also produces some heavy tunes under the same alias and writes for the blog 'squeaky bleeps'. Despite consuming more Gin than a 20 strong hen-do, Ben is one to watch for the coming year, see him at AKA first....
