i know absolutely nothing about compression or eq. i have no eq on this track at all (i suppose i will be doing this before the end product, it's also gonna get mastered for me). im using fl studio, so all i do is load maximus into my master channel and set it to soundgoodizer preset A lol.

if anyone could point me to some good compression or eq tutorials that would be awesome... actually, im afraid to say stuff like that on here cuz everyone will say USE THE SEARCH!!! hahaha. so yeah, i'll do some searching myslef... i just havn't felt like taking the time to learn it yet.

thanks for all the positive feedback everyone!

(currently remixing Firepower by Datsik)

Get on to the production bible in the production subsection buddy, you've definitely got the idea though some nice sounds going on there. Ask as many questions are you can in that section as everyones there to help, just try not to start new threads if there's already one going (e.g how do u mak borgoer woblz) and whack your works in progress in the stickied thread!

yeah, it's not gonna be the same thing throughout the song. im trying to go for a downlink-esque style. i don't want to completely jack his style and song structure, but it's really hard considering it's sooo good lol. he's my biggest influence along with datsik and reso, even though theres no way i could be makin beats like reso haha.

and (royalty-free) samples, haha, i totally jacked that shit from swing by savage. i wanted to completely remix the song, but there are NO acapellas anywhere for it. i had to try and make my own but it was impossible to get a perfect version, so i only got "dip it low" "pick it up" and "uh oh" out of it, along with the intro just because it sounds so sick. what i really wanted was "oh shit!", that would have been way tight. that is such a perfect song to remix into dubstep, too bad i couldnt get all the vocals out.

i will be providing this song free to everyone im pretty sure, so once it's done, i'll let you all know and you can just get it from the soundcloud. :D

OH! and if i get in the top 10, make sure to vote for me! that is if you like mine the best hahaha

First off, the 40 seconds you have there is sounding really great. Sick! Did that without knowing how to EQ or compress? Lucky? Maybe! Either way I'm feelin' it hard.

Anyway, sounds like there's gonna be some real competition out there for Inspectors contest. Here's my first entry I submitted already. Planning on finishing up a couple more by the deadline.
