"indian" and "mideast" sounding dubstep

Post by djgyn » Fri Jan 27, 2006 2:59 pm

So I was listening to Loefah's fantastic "Bombay Squad" this morning and I got a craving for more like it. Can anyone here make some recommendations of other MORE RECENT dubstep tracks using what one might refer to as "indian" and/or "mideast" sounds/samples? I heard Pinch's "Quawwali VIP" yesterday and that one moved me.

Thanks in advance. Maybe see some of you tonight at Dub War NYC. I'll be the quiet guy with the Muslimgauze shirt drinking many many beers.

"Subcontinent" Kode 9, I swear there's some bits on that Moving Ninja ting that uses non-Western instruments and ting.

What about Chinease vibes? "Monsoon RMX" Loefah or is that Japanese vibes?

"Fallen" has got some monked out chant on it as well

Monsoon is Chinese vibes, Fallen is Tibeten monks, if I'm not mistaken.

I really like the 'Eastern' sound, hopefully that doesn't get lost in techy sounds as things progress.

I am a sucker for eastern samples in dubstep. Shaolin is the pick of the bunch I reckon...

Plasticman's Camel Ride was always fun in my old car with my system installed. Starts off nice and quiet, and then the bassline hits.
