Amon Tobin...

Post by mary anne hobbs » Wed Jan 31, 2007 4:58 pm

Amon Tobin is mixing for my Radio1 show this week..

he's been out sampling everything from snarling panthers to rowing neighbours for his new record... so it should be all the way live...

also a serious new exclusive from Darqwan...
Matty G, DJ Hidden, Kalashnekov, Milanese, Ben Sharpa, Busdriver, El-B, Move D and more...

Thursday nite 2am

Rakim say 'peace'

Amon Tobin is the shit, but is his new stuff any good? The snippets I've heard sound like one hell of a change in style from the futuristic tunes he's put together in the past.

i am looking forward to this show for so many reasons..

I love Tobins work, always have done.. followed his progression for as long as I can remember, and after hearing his most recent treack played on your show the other week "‘Ester S’ (Ninja Tune)" ... I just wanna hear more and more !!!

Gonna be a classic in the making.

the new tobin album is really interesting - i never was a big fan of his tbh, but this is a seriously good album. The idea behind it, of him recording all the sounds before going into the studio and creating the tracks out of it, is also real interesting and it's actually really well done rather than a sorry excuse for a poor record like could have happened.
There's a couple of tracks that are seriously banging on there too.

And the new Busdriver album is also amazing!

Should be a dope show, looking forward to it!
