Rms in Live?
How can I get an rms reading on my mixer channels?? Does live not have this?
If it doesn't is there a vst that does this?
Thanks homies.

Re: Rms in Live?
are you talking about the dB readout beside the mixer in the separate channels? if so i would like to know how to show them too
Re: Rms in Live?
If you hover over the mixer on the dark grey line you can drag the mixer up and it will show the DB reading. If that helps
Re: Rms in Live?
yeah the db read outs, want to see the rms on them. and moving the grey line up shows me the peak not rms (average)
Re: Rms in Live?
there are lots of free metering plugins with RMS readouts
I think this one has one http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/X-ISM/index.asp
..I also remember Sonalksis doing a free one called Free G

Re: Rms in Live?
why do you want to see the RMS reading?
Re: Rms in Live?
there are many reasonsRickmansworth wrote:why do you want to see the RMS reading?
for instance if your RMS level is close to your peak level then it means a lack of dynamics in you tune
... or you may also want to dial in your compressor threshold to react to the RMS level rather than peak
