Hey dudes and dudettes, I've been meaning to start circuit bending and fooling around with making/modding music equipment for quite awhile, I was wondering if you people who do that kinda stuff would mind sharing your stories about tinkering with keyboards/amps/guitar pedals and what you struggled with as a beginner.

I bot a mini electronic kit about a year ago, got a cheap soldering iron around the same time, I have an old sk1 I bot about 9 years ago( plus a broken one I got on egay), I have a sketchy (most likely broken not legitimately tested) vintage tube preamp (or at least I think that what it is duuurrrr I bot about a month ago at value village that I'm trying to make into a fully functioning guitar head (need to replace mic input with quarter inch input or something?) and some broken gear that are probably pretty easy fixes, or at least some of them.

I've peeped some diy sites and it turns out nerds love posting electronic "make your own" tutorials on youtube so I think I'll be able to get somewhere with just using the internet.

anyways, the preamp thing is probably way out of my league but I think I could pick up on circuit bending pretty quick.

comments or anything about the topic would be great

Ehhh, it's kind of unrelated, but I bought a Line 6 Flextone II super cheap from some guy who literally managed to blow it up and melt 4 massive holes through the board. Found myself schematics and all that good stuff, cleaned it up, replaced the broken components, and now it's fully functional.

As for circuit bending, I get how it works and got the skills for it and I'm extremely interested in trying it. but I've never actually gotten off my ass and tried it. I'd love to though...
