Making an impact is something that Mike Khoury (listed : Varsity
Allstars : Lost Souls) does with ease. In just a few short years,
Mike’s career has been on a fast track. After cutting his teeth as a
local DJ honing his craft in Chicago, he traveled across the pond to
work in London. While in London, he brought his unique tech-house
sound to underground across the city working with Lost Souls
Promotions. Currently, Mike has dropped roots in San Francisco,
splitting time between his 9-to-5, the production studio and playing
out.
As Mike’s skills have grown, so has his stock with industry insiders
and partygoers alike. Earlier this year, Lee Burridge and Danny
Howells handpicked Mike to warm-up crowds as they hit America for a
quick mini-tour leading up to Winter Music Conference. Lee and Mike
are no strangers to sharing the booth, having been paired in recent
years throughout the world, sharing records and swapping skills from
Romania to Burning Man. All of his experiences have had a hand in
influencing Mike’s direction musically, broadening his ear and
expanding his horizons.
While in Miami for WMC a few years back, Mike had an idea that has
grown into an annual celebration in his former city of Chicago,
Varsity Allstars. The sole purpose was to gather the most unique
cross-section of revelers under the banner of ‘good music.’ Already in
its fourth year, the Varsity crew will be raising the bar in 2010,
offering two chances to experience what has quickly become the party
of the summer according to the Chicago clubbing elite, book ending the
season with incarnations occurring on both June 6th and August 22nd.
