Wooten:

Learned everything he knows from a mysterious blue-eyed man who showed up in his living room. To this day he's not even sure that man was real.

Best thread in a while :D Herbie Hancock really opened my eyes to amazing song construction and instrumentation (among other things :3)

Yo, Herbie Hancock is one of the main people that got me into synthesizers. Some of the things he was doing on the album Thrust were just mind blowing. So musical yet futuristic, and this album is from 1974.

Yeah, him and Joe Zawinul from Weather Report.

You must find...... The Funk

Then it's just a matter of getting a nice bass sample set and taking off snap to grid :D

For Wooty you gotta learn how to use like every finger you have at once for some stuff. Mega finger dexterity exercises. Try growing some mini dreads and wear hilarious shirts, I'm sure that's a large factor.

I've seen both of those guys live a couple of times. Wooten is mindblowing. His brother Futureman is pretty dope on that Drumitar too.
