I have a problem reinstalling my PCI 1212m sound card, I made a thread on computerforum that explains the whole issue.
If you had a similar problem or just know everything about computers plz help.

I don't know if this is an option for you, but one way to test if it is hardware or your funky system is to try to install the card in another computer...
I think it is possible that you killed your card, but I think it is unlikely. I would attempt to go back to zero state as much as possible. Roll the bios back, roll everything back to the way it was when it worked.

I believe I had the same issue when I was reformatting my system:
*Uninstall all drivers and programs required to run the sound card
*Turn off computer
*Remove sound card from PCI slots
*Start computer without the hardware
*Turn off computer
*Insert 1212M into desired PCI slots
*Start computer again
This should refresh the systems recognition of the hardware, it seemed to help for my system, however, I am not overclocking.

I didn't have a chance yet but that's on my to do-listnowaysj wrote:I don't know if this is an option for you, but one way to test if it is hardware or your funky system is to try to install the card in another computer...
I have a card I can try but since Windows detects the sound card as new hardware I assumed the bus was safe.nowaysj wrote:Could have fried your pci buss... any other pci devices installed... and still working?
I'll try that when I'm back home.HAACK wrote:I believe I had the same issue when I was reformatting my system:

Based on what you have already done (according to your thread on the other forum).... Your next logical step is this;
Test the PCI card in another machine entirely (like someone else's PC that is known working).
If the problem repro's on a new machine, you got a fried card. If the problem is fixed on a new machine, you know the problem is isolated to the computer. You need to confirm this before doing anything else.

on my new pc i loose audio output if i switch sessions. on my old pc it wouldnt play audio if my pc didnt shutdown properly either due to a hangup or power failure. then it would take multiple restarts to get it playing audio properly. the odd ting was that it look like it was working properly, in that the output levels moved as they should. but i still had no actualy audio coming out of the card and im sure my cables are fine. luckily that issue seems fixed on my new pc, but its still troubling that doesnt function perfectly. otherwise ive been happy with it. though i often forget about its onboard fx.daft tnuc wrote

Sterling, you sure you got the patch mix set up right? I've been using that f'er for over a year, and it still does my head in sometimes.
