UPDATED: London Dubstep DJ's / Central London club playout!
First of all, sorry if it's a wrong subforum, thought this would get most exposure here.
Myself and a group of people are currently working on putting on an event in London in Trafalgar Square / Waterloo area. We've already got the venue and headliners booked and the flyer is almost finished as well. The event is taking place on 24th of March.
It is a Drum And Bass event but we're trying to promote more techy / cutting edge D'n'B sound in London. I do not want to spill to many beans for now but have to say the people we've got DJing for us are well established in the scene and the night is definitely going to get some decent exposure (the club's location is something else is all I can say).
The venue is 2 rooms both circa 200 capacity. Now instead of having the 2nd room on lock we thought it would be interesting to have Dubstep room in there, seeing as a lot of D'n'B headz are into Dubstep these days (myself getting locked into Kode9/Burial/Benga/Juju/Boxcutter included).
The main issue we've got with room 2 is there is no soundsystem or DJ equipment. So ideally we're looking for people who would like to take over and bring their own (decent) gear in as well. The night is 8pm-3am and you'd have all that time available to DJ.
We will handle the whole promotion of the event ourselves, all the flyering and forums and you will be included on the flyer/info. We just want you to supply your equip on the night / DJ's and the music.
At this moment there is a massive financial effort being put into making this thing happen and I have to say there is no financial profit to be expected really.
However, if the night proves to be succesful we're looking for a long term collaboration in terms of you hosting Dubstep Room at our club events, also after relocating the night to bigger capacity place.
Serious people interested please PM me with any questions or send emails to: izmdj1@gmail.com.
I'm also available on aim: izmdj
More info soon.

So far the response we got was wicked! Keep the offers coming everyone!
Time for an update about the event.
As I said before, it is taking place on 24th of March from 8pm-3am. The night will be called THIS WAY UP and it is being organised / presented by RUSE RECORDS.
The place is called Queen Mary and it's a club on a ship docked near Waterloo Bridge. We believe it's worth investing time and money in as for the start because there's no competition around, the place in itself is pretty decent, the location is good (3 min walk from Trafalgar Sq, 5 min walk from Waterloo station) and the fact that it's a ship could definitely drag people in.
Room 2 is located underneath room 1 and it's completely soundproof (not sure how its’ being partially underwater works on bass weight, probably gives it some underwater dub accoustic properties )
The DJ's we got lined up for the night are: Calyx (Metalheadz/31 Records/Moving Shadow/Renegade Hardware etc.), State Of Mind (Subtitles, Uprising, their only playout in the UK, they're from New Zealand) and Apex (new project of Unknown Error from Moving Shadow / Lifted Music / Renegade Hardware.
All of the above are very well rated on D'n'B scene and in general this event is meant to present a bit of a different / more ambitious edge to drum and bass, preferably getting more mature people in (as opposed to the usual sweaty jump up raving crew ).
We got the flyer being in the works and designed by N.One from Neuropunks crew (www.neuropunks.com) who's worked and is working for D'n'B Full Force Recordings, Corrupt Souls etc. Make sure to check his work, he's done some amazing flyers and this one is definitely going to be visible on the streets of London!
Now with regards to Dubstep Room what we initially thought could be done is to get someone with their equipment in terms of having a chill out stage (clue: recent Therapy Sessions at Herbal with upper room playing Dubstep) and get them do it for free. I still think this is an option and I still think it can be appealing because in the end we cover the club's booking fee / flyer design, printing, flyer distribution, online advertising, the whole lot, so someone interested in taking over Room 2 is just to hire the equipment for it and get the DJs in. That's all.
I know it means investment but like I stated in the thread on Dubstepforum, we're investing our money into it ourselves and if the night is successful and it continues to grow it will eventually mean everyone making money doing it and hopefully a long lasting collaboration and relocating the night to a bigger place.
Having said that I'm also considering change of the plan of it all.
What I've got in mind is:
1.We take care of the D'n'B room / You take care of the Dubstep Room and we're advertising the whole event as D'n'B / Dubstep night where both rooms are on equal terms (they are the same size anyways). I'm thinking of having it advertised as: RUSE RECORDS in association with ______: THIS WAY UP / / Drum And Bass + Dubstep Night.
2.We split the promotion among both parties organizing it so yourselves get involved on a Radio/Online/Flyering level (again, us reaching D'n'B public and yourselves Dubstep public, roughly). We still take care of flyer design, printing etc.
3. We split whatever profit is made 50/50.
Reasoning behind organizing things this way:
1. There is no regular Saturday night Dubstep event now in London so there is no competition in terms of that. Furthermore it's the same with D'n'B as most events take place on Fridays. It’s a very good platform to build upon.
2. No matter what everyone says - Dubstep and D'n'B are drawing in if not the same then at least similar public. A lot of D'n'B headz are interested in Dubstep nowadays and a lot of Dubstep listeners like Drum And Bass. Having both genres reinforce each other in the club would only mean more interest from the clubbers and more education for open headz.
So in effect the question is - with the purpose of being involved on a more serious level and splitting the revenue generated 50/50 (also taking into account the obvious risk of only getting your money back or even financial loss) - would you be prepared to invest your money into organizing the event with us?
This means you hiring the soundsystem/dj equipment and organizing the DJs who could be paid not before but after the night (if it is a success) and helping us with promoting the event on the radio (can be done via DJ's shows really), online and flyering.
I know it is a big decision but as wrote above - there is an opportunity to build things up here and make it into something big in London.
If we got a sensible offer - we will clarify having the Room 2 on the night 100% and I will have my designer to redo the flyer's project.
If it's a no - we will either wait for more response from forums in terms of someone just stepping in to DJ or try and have some sort of smaller chillout/hiphop stage, or have it locked for the night and organize it D'n'Bwise only.
Waiting for your response.
