What is that lass on about "Glasgow doesn't have dubstep"?!...

Re: Edinburgh Dubstep Documentary
Very nice, a good perspective on things. Also do have a list of the tracks you used in the film? there were 1 or 2 i'd like to know, thanks.

lol blonde burd flexing her 2 months dubstep experience and her knowledge on the electronic dance music scene in the UK.
Re: Edinburgh Dubstep Documentary

no mention of DFRNT or paranoise?
isn't gravious from there too?
I'm a foreigner - but I'm assuming there's more to dubstep in Edinburgh than a bunch of trendy forward thinking yout
Re: Edinburgh Dubstep Documentary
Very cool. Whats the tune @ 0:45?
Re: Edinburgh Dubstep Documentary
Cheers for all the support you lot!
If anyone has NOT been to the bongo club in Edinburgh I recommend getting down there ASAP, awesome dubstep scene, awesome people.. again thanks for the support!
That would be Tactus - Jackals, ABAGA records, one of the local boysjyro wrote:Very cool. Whats the tune @ 0:45?
Sure thing, you can check out ABAGA records on myspace music to find the tracks, that's where I got most of them. Alternatively just give me the time and I will tell you!nijhead wrote:Very nice, a good perspective on things. Dunno lol just sounds like every tracks been knocked up in 5 mins, but no flame wars with music producers plz if you disagree with me then I assume you are correct!indika wrote:Cool film, but what's wrong with garage exactly?
I'm sure there is but you'd be surprised how hard it is to get people involved on a zero budget production, would have loved to get some bigger names on there.vishnu wrote:![]()

Re: Edinburgh Dubstep Documentary
Honestly, I'm not sure about this...
This is a slightly off-centre representation of "dubstep" as a genre/scene. And more-so, a disappointing portrait of Edinburgh's scene.
"There wasn't that much happening to represent dubstep in Edinburgh" - I'm not sure how much I agree with this - there's a bunch of nights, one almost every day of the week now, as well as a host of good producers. No word in the doc of Paranoise, Morphamish, Akira Kiteshi or Neil Landstrumm. No mention of Volume, Coalition, Innuendub or Xplicit. it felt a little like an advert for Abaga and Jungledub. Hardly a fair representation.
From the outset, I don't think the "garagey drumloops" are all UK garage had to contribute to "dubstep" to be fair.
The bongo club is good but it's not a "dubstep club" per say. They have plenty other genres and nights on offer. No mention of the top class messenger Soundsystem hosted there either.
"Glenrothes and Glasgow don't have dubstep" - it's disappointing to hear ill informed pointless vox-pops from pissed-up punters who clearly haven't got much of a clue.
I'm not anti-drugs, but I'm disappointed that they're hyped up so much in relation to a documentary that was seemingly meant to be about the apparent state of dubstep in Edinburgh.
