'Leg Up' Audio Service (New Pricing)

*New pricing*

I'm a mastering engineer in training. I have mastered for some acclaimed independent labels (Sequence recs, Prime audio and many more), I have a diploma at destination level for music technology and also currently in my music technology specialist degree. I have a tight grasp of what needs doing to a certain track, I have a good set of undamaged ears, and spend time listening to old and new music spanning many genres.

I offer two services: Digital Stereo Masters, or Stem Mixing and Mastering.

I am charging a flat rate of £10 a track, or stem mixes/masters for £20.

An invoice is available upon request

Mastering examples can be found on my website http://www.depone.co.uk/mastering

I require either a stereo bounce (24 bit 44.1Khz) with some headroom (-3db peaking), or I can do stem mixing, and mastering for £20

Please make sure that everything is finalised before sending your tracks to me. Nothing worse than missing an effects or pad from the track without realising.

To get tracks to me,
A file sharing service sendspace is perfect for securely sending links, as its non google searchable
Please label your files accordingly like this example: Artist name - Track title [PREMASTER]

Any questions feel free to email me from the 'contact' tab on the main page of my website (http://www.depone.co.uk) .

Thanks for your time -
Matt (Depone)

I still don't get this. I don't know why you're goig to lengths to say that it isn't a mastering job when you just give a stereo bounce, I don't think anyone would expect a professional result for a donation price.

Have you any A/B examples of tracks you've done this too.

If I was going to let anybody else touch my mix, Depone and only a couple of others would be the only ones I'd allow. Depone knows how to make your tracks full, punchy and LOUD, if you're thinking of getting your tracks brushed up by somebody, I couldn't recommend Depone more!

How's that for a testimonial! :?:

cool that you are doing this,

but since you admit that your not a real mastering engineer why dont we discuss these
Depone wrote: quality proceses that will enhance your music and make it sound much 'fuller'.
instead asking to be paid for them. Because in the end, you are still self-admittedly not a M.E.

i am at the same point as you academically and I am also working at a big studio here in SF, i think this should be a discussion point not something to pay for...

Well. Its at a donation, you dont actually have to pay anything. Its giving me practice and im just asking for the person to 'square up' for my time spent on it. At your choice. So im not asking to be as you put it Paid, but a little something in return.
This is not a business model, this is me helping the community. Thats my view anyhow.
20/twelve recs are testing me out, I can get some A/B examples once its done.

I might hit you up soon mate, as i will not be in my home city after this week, and i am meant to finish about 6/7 track some are mixed but need mastering or some are just left for dead haha. This was my fault for making lots of tracking in one good and keeping them to my self, so as i will not be able to finished them my self, as stated i will not be around no more. I was going to give it someone trustworthy i know and say, heres a track, take it it down your, you will probably be able to make 2 tunes out of it with the musical content within in, providing you some of acknowledgeable. But am not sure i want to hand it all over. So i might send it you :) I shall see, let these last few weeks pass.
A brand new song!

Good point! This isnt a job, its practice for myself and to give to the community. I could ask for a straight up £15, but then for a bit more you could have someone like MACC do some nifty tricks.
I will sort out some A/B stuff. In the mean time, the track in my sig etc.. is self mastered.

I am interested depone, not in your services, but rather in discussion of these processes (ie, picking eachothers brains), formulating possibly new ideas through communication is a huge reason why we are all here.

I feel the community could benefit more from discussion than just providing a service, i think you could still get your practice in ( there is a gaggle of people here that could use and will use your service regardless)

just an idea... cheers for doing this, your stuff sounds great and I fully support what you are doing. I just want to share my processes with people and vice versa, especially since we are all students of sound at this point. :D

Exactly, it's practice for you. That's what you'd be getting out of it isn't it? I would do this myself for free because it would be useful for more and fun, and i think I could be more objective/subjective (fuck, can never remember which one is which) with someone else's music.

If it's not proper mastering, people might well want to get their tunes mastered by a professional in the future and wouldn't use your processed version. I don't mean to be disrepectful, I've no idea of your skills I'm just speculative in general. A/Bs would be great, as a single mastered track doesn't give any indication how other (perhaps poorly mixed) tracks might turn out.
