Favorite House/Techno labels

Post by 1017_duck » Tue Jun 15, 2010 4:38 pm

Resurrecting this thread..forgot all about it. Trying to get into more techno atm. I know we have 'the techno thread' but thought this would be a concise opportunity to chop it up a little bit.

Can't get enough of Delsin, Clone, and Rush Hour atm. Dunno what yall are sipping on over there in the Netherlands.

For house..most of the big ones tend to be a little hit or miss for me like Crosstown, Dirtybird, Get Physical, Kompakt, etc. Though Dial, Innervisions, Ghostly/Spectral, LIES, Perlon, and Cadenza are usually interesting.

Also feeling Smallville, Pampa, Mojuba, Créme, RVNG, Mule, and Drumpoet. And digging through older labels like Prescription, Nervous, and Peacefrog is fun.

As far as techno..again I know a good handful of the big ones. Ostgut Ton, R&S, Tresor, Planet E, KMS, Vakant, Cocoon, Minus, Ovum, Drumcode, Bpitch Control, CLR, Sandwell District, Modern Love, etc.

I dig dub techno but my knowledge is pretty much limited to Basic Channel/Chain Reaction, Echospace, Frozen Border, Echocord

Also still quite into the 110-120 slow-mo thing, but finding good ones is pretty tough. Smalltown Supersound, Tigersushi, and Noid especially rarely put a foot wrong imo..but Eskimo and Permanent Vacation have been disappointing me lately.

So yeah..everything I named is pretty well known, so I feel like I'm missing out on a lot. RA's label of the month and other features are pretty cool. Any contributions would be awesome. Normally I'd give someone a few resources and let them find what they like on their own, but I feel like I've kind of hit a wall..just looking for a little guidance and discussion :W:

Could a mod maybe move this to the hideout if it's not too much trouble?

Two releases to be going on with...

Don Haffer 'Spaceboots EP' (tipped by Roska & Marcus Nasty if that helps)
Seany B 'Deep In The Sound'

and try SoulSerious

Just listening to this and this is good house/techno if you ask me, even though individually most of tunes aren't classed that way - everything is blurred at the moment

Got a pretty good handle on 140 related labels doing house/techno now..unless they were started in the last two years. Been liking Ostgut for a while now, thanks for the other three, ain't heard of them.
