If I came to the chance of meeting someone who wrote dub in .nsf format would you buy a cartridge release?

Yeah, a friend of mine got one on ebay about 3 or 4 years ago which is where he used to sell them. He's made a new version since, but his project seems dead. Website hasn't been updated in 2 years to the day on the 2nd of July. Oh well...flopps wrote:Its a shame x|k has made such a shit service about selling midiNESwormcode wrote:I probably would. The nsf/cartridge idea is cool though. How common are the parts needed for such a thing?

Depending on the size of the rom file you need to use different "donor" boards, but to be honest I doubt it will be large enough to outfit a typical NROM cartridge. a list of carts you can use which are NROM can be found here http://www.thenesdump.com/Mappers/NROM.htmwormcode wrote:Yeah, a friend of mine got one on ebay about 3 or 4 years ago which is where he used to sell them. You would then need a EPROM programmer and some EPROMS which can set you back a fair amount of cash.
So I would say pretty common, its the EPROM Programmer which stops people from making their own.
