Grime 3 `

Post by datura » Fri Oct 07, 2005 8:15 pm

I was thinking abou this the other day, iff Rephlex decided to do a Grime 3 comp, who would you have on it (3 artists as per 1 & 2)?

I was thinking:

Skream
D1
Distance

D1 & Skream in particular seem to have a stack of amazing unreleased dubs and Distance has been one of the most consistent producers in the last year or two...

distance is great, but

Skream
D1
Cyrus

seems logical combination to me

I'd give Shackleton a look in there also.

btw, do u think a n°3 is planned ?
Could be a very nice thing just because the 2 first helped a lot to popularize da grime / dubstep sound outside the UK...
In Belgium that waz obvious ! People bought the records just because it is on Rephlex and then discovered the sublow tings. Before that, when u spoke here about grime, everybody thought u were a freak or an alien ;-)

Based on a fantastic dub I just heard on the latest Gutterbreaks mp3, I'd want Forsaken as one of the featured producers.

Also:
Search & Destroy
Pressure (he's on Rephlex as The Bug anyway...)
OUT IN THE STREET,
THEY CALL IT MURDA

Yes yes! Although fair point, Skream getting his own tempa thing - but so what - too many big tunes for one label!

Would be funny if they put out some grime tho. Just a thought...
