James Blake - Libra

Post by elibomyekip » Thu Jul 08, 2010 12:53 pm

Any information on this? It's not listed as forthcoming on Ben UFO's xlr8r mix, but there's always a chance it might be coming on Hessle. Tune is lovely.

I'd love it if he did an album. Anthems like CMYK b2b his own singing on a few tracks would be fantastic. The man knows his pop and r&b.

I've been really getting into james blake lately but what songs does he use his own voice for? I'm really intrigued

Im sure i read somewhere that he was making an album of his more vocal stuff. Maybe he talked about it on gilles petersons show?

He samples, chops and warps his own vocals for quite a lot of his songs I think. I'm sure his own (heavily edited) vocal snippets are in the Stop What You're Doing remix
But more specifically -

Think there's snippets of his vocals in this too, not sure -

The stuff with Airhead sounds like it uses his vocals too.
He has a really nice voice.

Oh shiiiiiiiiiit I thought measurements was a remix or something! James blake is fucking amazing. And I had assumed he just used soul and rnb samples like burial for all of the chopped and mutated vocals... man James Blake just went up like 10x in my book. I still can't believe anyone thinks he's overrated :o

Oneman played a remix (VIP?) of this when he went b2b with Jamie XX the other day. Does that mean this may come out? Might just be heavily pitched down, can't really tell.

I wasn't really feeling the James Blake tunes I'd heard on Radio 1 but I really enjoyed the tunes posted in this thread. I'll have to check out the rest of his stuff now.
