problem w/ akai mpk25 and FL Studio 9

Post by jerrdan » Thu Jul 15, 2010 6:50 am

Hello all. This is my first post, but sadly it is due to problems with my new controller. I have the Akai MPK25 and when using FL Studio 9, I cannot figure out how to map the knobs on the hardware to control the knobs on my VSTS, such as Massive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Another note, I have tried right clicking and hitting "learn MIDI" on Massive but to no avail.

for third party plugins youve got to go to the top left corner with the arrow, click it, then go to make editor thumbnail

it'll take you to that generator in the browser. open that up, find the parameter you want to modulate, and the rest should be self explanitory

Thank you so much! Works perfectly. Also, I found a very helpful video for setting up the mpk25 with FL studio, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOPIITFOuP4.

Found it online after I posted the thread, OF COURSE. :u:

Just move the knob that you want to automate, go the the little carrot in the upper left hand of the vst wrapper, and select last tweaked, and then link to controller, then move your controller and you're done.

The best way is to click the little joystick button kind of by the transport panel, then twiddle each knob you want to control with your mouse. And then twiddle each real knob in the same order and you're good.

'Override Generic Links' is also amazing.

multilink controllers is awesome. Something I've been meaning to look into for about 2 years. Thanks for posting that. It is so gawd damn easy, I should be ashamed for not doing it sooner.
