Nah mate it ain't record, none of us have enough talent to actually play an instrument, it's all sequenced in the cubase.

Hehe definitely not recorded, the bass was as electric bass patch out of HalionOne (cubase's built in rompler) with a sine wave underneath to create better consistency with the rest of the track. The guitar stabs also came from HalionOne and the organ stabs from NI B4II. The Brass stabs came out of Kontakt's included library and with the drums I use some somewhat "weaker than normal" drum hits and ran them through the UAD space echo for some spring reverb. Everything in the intro I think came from Massive. The character of the sound then came from the effects, mixdown and whatever badass equipment Macc ran it through.

When I made this part of the track I was trying to get something which sounded a bit like traditional dub so I tried to make it not sound too clean and clinical and like it could've been recorded...from your post it sounds like I achieved my goal even though everything is rigidly quantized through that section haha.
