July 30, Percussion Lab & Cassette NYC team up to bring you another prime slice of Brooklyn Beats & Bass. Tropical, Funky sounds via Matt Shadetek and Melo-X, Electro Funk from Ghostly's Mux Mool and NY Garage and Dubstep from Hotflush Records' Sepalcure & NY's Dubwar Don Dave Q. There's something bubbling up in BK right now and its all happening below 300hz. The most eclectic dance party in NYC hands down. Don't miss out.
Matt Shadetek http://duttyartz.com/
Fresh from the release of his latest full length, "Flowers" and previously known as one half of the duo Team Shadetek (Warp Records) - in the past decade of producing and DJing, NY's own Matt Shadetek has shed the glitch for the funk. After smashing NY repeatedly this past year with his NY Funky / Tropical DJ Sets we had to get him to a Cassette party. Check his recent exclusive mix for XLR8R for a taste of where his sets are at these days:

Sepalcure http://sepalcure.com/
Sepalcure’s combination of love for bass and 90s NY house acapellas began as the culmination of a cathartic two week collaboration between Travis Stewart (Machinedrum) and Praveen Sharma (Praveen & Benoît). Their mix of tribal dub, house and two step beats works equally well for both late nights in the club and rainy, introspective nights at home. Detroit techno chords cut through wooden beats, neon synths and dubbed out atmospherics. Expect a strictly NY take on this increasingly global bass music sound.
Mux Mool http://myspace.com/muxmool
Mux Mool’s homespun electro hip-hop is the product of an introverted mind, an extroverted imagination, and a bottomless cultural appetite. Part of the original Cassette Tag Team Crew, this night he's bringing you unreleased beats performed live off his upcoming Ghostly and Moodgadget releases. Just wait for the Re-Mux.
Dave Q http://dqxt.org/dubwar/
Dub War's Dave Q should need no introduction to any bass loving New Yorker. After growing NY's premier dubstep night from infancy to primacy him and the Dub War crew are taking a break for the summer. We're glad he's still keen to work his tastemaker magic this night - expect dubs you won't be hearing from your favorite producers for the next 6 months.
Melo-X http://melo-x.blogspot.com/
Brooklyn native Melo-X makes music across the map - from remixes of Amy Winehouse albums to straight NY House & Funky tunes. This night he's going to be dropping some of his latest tropical tinged funky creations.
