Fundamentalists say the darndest things

"[about a girl being born with mental disabilities]

This girl is like a leper so what she needs to do is try and find god - if she really believes she can be healed from this state, she will be healed from this state

Most afflictions like this are caused by sins committed while still inside the womb. If she can repent for what she does god will embrace her and make her as human as you or me but if she chooses not to she'll always be like this - god tests every one of us"

"I am a bit troubled. I believe my son has a girlfriend, because she left a dirty magazine with men in it under his bed. My son is only 16 and I really don't think he's ready to date yet. What's worse is that he's sneaking some girl to his room behind my back. I need help, God! I want my son to stop being so secretive!"

"There are a lot of things I have concluded to be wrong, without studying them in-depth. Evolution is one of them. The fact that I don't know that much about it does not bother me in the least."
"[Commenting on a study which suggests that women who exercise by doing the housework can reduce their risk of breast cancer]

Missing the point. It's not the exercise. Joggers and Pilates people - and the sun-worshippers - are the ones getting breast cancer. The explanation is this. It is God Who gives you cancer. A woman who keeps house, and bears the children God gives her as a gift, and prays the Rosary - no abortions and no pills - will be cancer-free, all other things being equal. "Blessed is the man whom God corrects; refuse not therefore the chastising of the Lord, for He wounds and cures, He strikes and His hands shall heal" - Job."

"You got it backwards.

Creationism is based upon science, reason and tons of evidence.

Evolution is based on the blind acceptance of superstitions and fairy tales."

And many more splendid observations

The funny thing is that it gives you the link where the original quote comes from so you can post up your opinions if you're in the mood to troll :D

Although a lot of it's laughable, there's some really dark shit on there - wifebeaters saying that it's god's law that condones beating disobedient wives and someone saying that a girl that went to see friends and got raped en route was punished for not going to church and one where someone said that a woman dying from a botched illegal abortion deserved it.

Not quite getting the gospel there I reckon.

Anything to do with this nutter

I think they were blaming US casualties in Iraq on gay rights too. Didn't make much sense to me to be honest, but then religious nuts rarely do

Maybe they were just in blackly comic mood. She is quite wrong in so many ways though. I think she's from that cult where they were all descended from a very small gene pool.

Funny that

You should have really played brinkmanship with her and got her pregnent. That would have put her in a bit of a moral canundrum. Although it could have gone the wrong way for you. And then you have to resort to the old Vera Drake D I Y method.

I'd like to know what sins you can commit inside the womb. I certainly don't remember committing any
